Geoelectrical prospections

Geoelectric investigations allow, through the introduction of electrical current into the soil, to obtain information about the stratigraphy of the subsoil in terms of load capacity and conductivity of the materials.

These investigation methods provide a section of the subsoil, in terms of resistivity or chargeability, useful in cases of environmental impact assessment and stratigraphic research aimed at finding exploitable groundwater.

The vertical electrical soundings represent a particular type of investigation that fonisce dimensional information on the variation of subsurface resistivity. These surveys can reach depths of up to fivehundred meters.
